Matt Larson has joined carbon capital and risk management company C-Quest Capital (CQC) as chief financial officer. He was previously a controller in the fixed income division of Goldman Sachs. "Matt arrives as CQC is expanding its proprietary carbon trading business and has closed its first set of primary carbon project transactions in Central America, Africa and Asia, and has opened offices in Australia," the company said of the appointment.

Catherine Scott has also joined CQC as senior advisor for forest carbon origination. She will be based in the company's Washington DC office and will help the company to originate carbon-rich forest equity investments and offset projects across the US. She has experience in the conservation movement and was most recently chief operating officer of NGO the Land Trust Alliance, managing its conservation, policy education, communications and development divisions. She has also worked as a financial analyst for Morgan Stanley and served as an attorney with the US Department of State.
